To package a portable electronic devices such as laptops, it must satisfy legislative requirements in that it is
used primarily for work related purposes.
Therefore, in order for an employee to take advantage of the FBT exempt status through salary packaging, it will be necessary for the employer to be satisfied
that the device is used greater than 50% for employment related purposes.
You will be required to keep a diary for at least one month to support the usage and for the employer to validate the need for the device is primarily for
use in the employee's employment by way of a signed declaration.
